OAK GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH Vision: The pastor should be excited about his calling to the ministry and to our church. He should exhibit a vision of doing God's work here, and should enthusiastically share it with the church. The pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care ministries, to provide administrative leadership to all areas of church life and to act as the chief administrator of the paid staff. Responsibilities: 1. Prepare and lead the worship services, prepare and deliver sermons, and lead in observance of ordinances. 2. Lead the church in an effective program of personal witnessing, evangelism and missions. 3. Lead a visitation program for members and prospects 4. Provide a caring ministry of counseling, pastoral care and crisis/social ministry for persons in the church and community. 5. Lead in planning, organizing, directing, coordination and evaluating the total church program. 6. Work with and lead the deacons, church officers and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities. 7. Cooperate with association, state and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern. To keep the church informed of denominational developments. 8. Strengthening himself and the church through private and public devotions, prayer, Bible study and teaching. 9. Have a nurturing family, supportive of his ministry.
